Poster Contest
The Sioux County Soil & Water Conservation District sponsors a conservation-themed poster contest for K-12 students each year. Monetary rewards are given to winning participants in each division. Posters must reflect and include the title of the 2026 contest theme: “Soil. Where it all Begins”.
Rules:
+ Posters must reflect and include the title of this year’s contest theme “Soil. Where it all Begins.” on the poster. This is the only eligible title for the competition.
+ Posters must be made on regular poster paper, and can range from 8.5×11 inches up to 22×28 inches. Mediums including paint, crayons, colored pencils, charcoal, stickers, magic markers, paper, or whatever inspires the students can be used. Please no three dimensional effects.
+ Turn in to the SWCD office by March 27th.
Posters are judged on the following criteria:
50% for Conservation Message
30% for Visual Effectiveness
10% for Originality
10% for Universal Appeal
Overall County Winners in every Division will receive the following prizes: 1st Prize – $40; 2nd Prize – $35; 3rd Prize – $30; 4th Prize – $25; & 5th Prize – $20. From each school grade participating, we will award 1st Prize – $15; 2nd Prize – $10
